Yes. Incredible story. But true nonetheless. I wonder if the pilot got fired for getting the passengers feet wet? Or perhaps it was co-pilot error.

'Travel Fail' - You're not kidding are you?

I wonder if it's ok, next time I fly, to ask if the pilot is ex-military. I have a feeling that my friend's brother, who was "airline taught," and not an ex-fighter pilot (or glider pilot) just does not have the experience to make the correct decisions in an event like that.

On second thought, maybe I just don't want to know.

VM - For the first time, I think it's appropriate to use the word AWESOME!

IBM - Should I feel confident about flying, knowing my life is in such safe hands, or worried that a simple bird strike can down a passenger jet?

John - Good choice, that man.

Laurie - I'm just thinking of all the alarms that must have been going off in that cockpit: engine failure, off course, landing gear, too slow, too near buildings, ugh.

I hear soon-to-be-ex-President Bush has declared a War On Geese. That's near Italy, right?

Well, as a frequent wing walker and being not unknown for throwing myself from the odd Cliff for the amusement of others - only to find I'm holding onto anothers glove - I'd say you'd be pretty much in safe hands. I think you'll find it is most often the birds who come off worse in 'bird strike.' I'm sure you'd agree.
