Priceless
So. After the burglary, we found the bedroom strewn with the contents of the filing cabinet, which we hastily threw into a couple of boxes for later sorting. Which is what I've been doing today.
What a load of junk.
Receipts dating back to 1998, guarantees long since expired, instructions for a Soda Stream FFS. Any amount of old credit card statements going back to the dawn of time (and yes, aware of identity fraud, I had the cards cancelled on Sunday night).
And then I found this letter. I don't normally put my name up in lights on the interwebs, but in this case I'll make an exception.
Opening it, I found this beautiful picture.
And turning it over, this important document.
Some thing are irreplaceable. Thank FSM he didn't get this.

In The Country
So. Back from 1960 Chillingham. Finally able to breathe again after spending three years two whole days cut off from civilisation. Ah, well, it was quiet. Click to enlarge...
We stayed in this tiny six-bedroom hovel, courtesy of the Shepherdess.
One of the several horses dotted about the place.
Can you spot all three horses in this scene?
Yup. Dead centre.
Flowers of some sort. Possibly daises.
Stoopid camera tried to brighten up this shady scene.
Geordie wheelchair. I'm here all night, folks!
Shepherdess: It would be really nice if you could get a photo of the dogs sitting together.
Dogs: What's that? You want us to run off in opposite directions?
Me: Maybe if I throw a ball for them to fetch?
Dogs: We're very good at splitting up to chase things. We're sheepdogs.
Much, much later...
Red sky at night - Windsor's alight.
I'm ready for my close-up now.

Stereogram #2

At last Farty's hydrangea has come into bloom. Click to enlarge if you just like pretty flowers, or try that crossing/uncrossing your eyes thing on the small version to see the stereo image. About four inches wide at arm's length works best for me; try concentrating on the bloom just left of bottom centre.

Sometimes It's The Little Things
Like a bunch of dandelions growing by the roadside.
Or an article in the papers that says most chicks at work don't like being called "love". Although oddly, ten per cent of South East dolls said they would take Babe as a compliment. Presumably the ten percent who haven't seen the film.
Or the news that, after making a detailed series of measurements and observations, boffins have concluded that Victoria Beckham's eyes really are bigger than her belly.
Or the way that women say odd things like: "Take the tablecloth off the table so we can have lunch; I don't want to get it dirty 'cos it's designer." Um, can you run that last one past me again?

Rugby Match
Over the weekend, two of our grandsons had games at different ends of the country, so we had the pleasure of taking GS#2 to his match in Embra.
"So where exactly is this place?" we asked.
"Oh, you can see Arthur's Seat from it," replied mum.
Yep, that'll make it a whole lot easier. You can see Arthur's Seat from twenty miles away on a clear day. Let's see the old Google Maps...<clicky> Ah! That should read "you can see nothing but Arthur's Seat from it". So off we go.
The trouble with rugby, from a photographer's point of view, is that everybody wears the same clothes and they all run about a lot, so if you're trying to get a nice picture of your nearest and dearest, you're stuffed. Let's see if there's anything standing still.

Wait...what does this button do? Oh, motion capture. That's clever.

Nothing To See Here
I decided on the title to this post at lunchtime today, as I was planning to stick some photos over there on Flicker ===>
And also mention an update to Celebrity Litigation here.
But then I saw this article in New Scientist. After least year's less than sensational news about a shed of invisibility, boffins have only gone and created an actual, working invisibility cloak using gold rings. Blimey! Where did they get that idea?
One tiny catch. You have to be about 500 nanometres in size for it to work. So even Frodo would be a smidgen on the chubby side...
In fact I can't imagine any human being who'd be thin enough to pull it off.
Can you?
