Blog Whore
I am such a sucker for memes and tags and that. Or lazy. Whatever. I liked this one from Marie.
- Pick 10 of your favourite films.
- Go to IMDB and find a quote from each film.
- Post them here for everyone to guess.
- Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the film.
- GUESSERS: NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions. I mean, you can cheat if you want, but is it really that important?
- One film guess per commenter.
So here are my film quotes. If you guess one right and I mark it thusly, feel free to guess on another one.

More clues in the comments. But hurry,

#3 is Independence Day.
Only one guess? But I know numbers 1, 3, 4, 8, and 10.
Ok. #1. Young Frankenstein. Best movie ever made.
**giggles**
but i agree with #2
#4: Monty Python's Holy Grail. Best movie evah. (Of course, Young Frankenstein is right up there, as well...)
I am drawing a blank. Obviously I do not watch many movies....however I am glad to say I did know Monty Python. I LOVE that movie.
6 - Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy?
"it could be worse - it could be raining" -young frankenstein
?
I got #4, The Holy Grail!
Oh, this is fun!
Marie - Correct, and I wish I had one of those!
Laurie - That's Frönkensteen!
Jahooni - Yes, it struck a chord with me too.
#Debi - Oh, hello! Welcome to my world. And correct.
Jacki - I think even you might have seen one of the rest!
Sew - Go to the top of the class! I picked that line because it's not in the book or the tv series. Or the vinyl record. Or the original radio series. Not that I'm an H2G2 fan or that...
Honey - Yes, but too late.
John - You certainly did.
Time to have another go...
#10: Roger Rabbit. I never thought Jessica was drawn that badly...
;)
#Debi - Another one right.
Ooh, I get another guess! #8-Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. Apropos, considering your last post.
I think I know a couple of others, but I'll refrain from more guesses. This was so much fun I decided to do it over at my place. Come on over and play! :)
Oy, 2 and 9 sound soooo familiar! My Google button is itchy!
Might you be referring to Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy?
Absolutely no idea. Can't you do lyrics?
I think we need some more hints!
Laurie - Correct. And that was a coincidence.
#Debi - Ah, go on! (I've had a sneak peek at yours and will be over shortly to guess.)
Marie Marie - Fair do's.
Jacki - Er, no actually. Try asking your kids about #7.
Cat - Ok.
#2 Closing song:
And all will turn to silver glass
A light on the water
All souls pass
#5 Closing song:
You're the first one
When things turn out bad
You know I'll never be lonely
You're my only one
And I love the things
I really love the things that you do
#7 Opening song:
Some other folks might be a little bit smarter than I am
Bigger and stronger too
Maybe
But none of them
Will ever love you
The way I do
It's me and you, boy
#9 I have no memory of there being any songs, but IMDB says otherwise.
Title Song:
Running from the nightmare
In the middle of the road
Hell's no place for sleeping
In a world beyond control
Caught in the headlights
Coming after you
When I woke up this morning
I had to do what I gotta do
Blast me to Heaven for loving you
Blast me to Heaven for loving you
OK, then, I'll take a stab at #5, is it Shaun of the Dead? I haven't seen that one, but it sounds like something that would be in it...
#Debi - You've not seen it? You really should, it's one of the funniest films I've ever seen.
I was tempted to post the line "What's the matter? Haven't you ever taken a shortcut before?", but that gives two equally correct answers.
Now, Hot Fuzz I have seen. It was this: excellent.
No 7 is Toy story!
Ha! #7 Is Toy Story!! BTW: I only have one kid and she is 3. She was of no help.
#Debi - Oh, now you have to see Shaun of the Dead, so you can see how much they reused in Hot Fuzz!
Guru - Oh, hello! Nothing like a quiz to bring 'em out of the woodwork, eh? And correct.
Jacki - Pipped at the post.
More clues?
I think Mr H would get #9 in an instant. Really fast. Dead quick. Rapido.
#2 - another quote then:
L: One small bite [of this] is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man.
P & M: Mmmm.
L strolls off.
M: How many did you eat?
P: Four.
#2 - King of Rohan - Theoden - from LOTR: The Two Towers upon visiting his son Théodred's grave with Gandalf.
:)
Matriarch - Feck, that was fast! And right. And hello.
I was totally thinking Castaway for #7. And I was wrong... :)
By special request of Mr Farty, I have been asked to put you all out of your misery. So, bend over, say your goodbyes and...
Oh, you meant tell them the answer to No 9 - "Jesus. Bob, what button did you push?"
It is, of course, from a film by the divine (pictured top right) Sandra Bullock.
The answer is, tah-dah! Speed!
Plebs.
Debi - Toy Story is great for quotes like that, it throws nearly everyone.
Mr H - Lucky guess.
