I wonder if it's ok, next time I fly, to ask if the pilot is ex-military. I have a feeling that my friend's brother, who was "airline taught," and not an ex-fighter pilot (or glider pilot) just does not have the experience to make the correct decisions in an event like that.
On second thought, maybe I just don't want to know.
Laurie - I'm just thinking of all the alarms that must have been going off in that cockpit: engine failure, off course, landing gear, too slow, too near buildings, ugh.
I hear soon-to-be-ex-President Bush has declared a War On Geese. That's near Italy, right?
Well, as a frequent wing walker and being not unknown for throwing myself from the odd Cliff for the amusement of others - only to find I'm holding onto anothers glove - I'd say you'd be pretty much in safe hands. I think you'll find it is most often the birds who come off worse in 'bird strike.' I'm sure you'd agree.
That was just an incredible story!!!
ReplyDeleteYes. Incredible story. But true nonetheless. I wonder if the pilot got fired for getting the passengers feet wet? Or perhaps it was co-pilot error.
ReplyDelete'Travel Fail' - You're not kidding are you?
Lucky buggers!! Well done the pilot!!
ReplyDeleteName that tune!

VM - For the first time, I think it's appropriate to use the word AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteIBM - Should I feel confident about flying, knowing my life is in such safe hands, or worried that a simple bird strike can down a passenger jet?
John - Good choice, that man.
