Farty's Friday Chart

Eee-ohhh-oh!

I was gonna go for Farty's Friday Figure Feature, but chart is a nice pun on pop music and diagrams and...

Anyway, here's the deal. Every Friday until I get bored, I'll post a diagrammatic representation of a popular song. You guess what it's supposed to be over the weekend. I post the correct answer on Monday. Or Tuesday.

If you have any ideas for songs you'd like to see visualised and can't be arsed to put them in your own blog, email me, MrFarty at blueyonder dot co dot uk, and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks to Salvadore Vincent for the original inspiration with his Venn diagrams and that.

btw, this post done in Firefox after problems trying to upload using IE7. I might not go back.

  1. It's still Thursday here. Barely. Is this something Aretha Franklin does before she puts on her makeup? Say a little prayer for you?

  2. My (probably incorrect) guess is "Legs" by ZZ Top.

  3. BTW IE7 messed up my computer, I had to do a system restore. I'm a Firefox girl now.

  4. Laurie - I can see where you're coming from, but it's not just one thing in that quadrant, it's all of them.

Liz - I'd like to buy a couple of tickets for a trip around the inside of your head. In other words, not even close.

Marie Marie - "Parp" is the noise a fart makes. It can be very expressive.
Boo to IE7. They don't tell you when you're installing it that you must have nothing else running and reboot immediately after installation without installing anything else at the same time. Firefox doesn't even need a reboot.

    And your guess?

  5. Firefox is the best thing ever. Make sure you get the adblock plus extension to make it even more better.

Song. Hmm. I have to think about this one...

  6. Well, shoot. It's not The Police Every little thing she does is magic, then, either.

I use Firefox at home and at work. It works and it's got the cute little flaming fox circling the world symbol.

  7. Actually, Laurie, I'm fairly certain that it is in fact The Police Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, now that you've brought it to memory...

  8. Mr Farty I never thought you had a Police Record?

Must be Ghosts in my machine

  9. It's that Sting one. Everything she does is magic or something like that.

  10. Yeah, that's what I guessed too. But now I have to wait for the grand results unveiling.

    Oooh, the suspense.

  11. I broke my arm dancing to this in my mum's kitchen. It's one of the many things I blame Sting for.

It is "Every Little thing She Does is Magic" , but of course I sang it like,

"Every Little thing She Does is....whooooa...aaaaayeeee, my bloody arm....need doctor....help! Bloody Sting..."

  12. We can certainly blame Sting for writing and singing crap songs. Clever all the same.

  13. Is it "Lets Get Physical" by Revolting Cocks?

If not, why not. Shouldn't everything be "Lets Get Physical" by Revolting Cocks.

  14. Angela-la-la - I'll bear that in mind. About the song - you snooze, you lose. Or something.

Laurie - If not, why not?
I like the fact that small fonts are still readable in Firefox.

    #Debi - Me too.

John - I'll make the next one easy.

    Brom - B'dum tsh!

Wrath of Dawn - So we meet at last, eh? Welcome to my world. Make yourself at home. Put your feet up.
And yes, it's that Sting one.

WithaY - Has it been worth the wait?

Misssy - Were you dancing on the kitchen table at the time? We need details!

Colin - G'day, mate! The noo. Gosh, this is a very cosmopolitan post, innit?

Mr H - Oh, how I wish that you'd just made up that reference! Think I'll stick to Olivia Neutron Bomb.

  15. How about Donna Summer...She works hard for her Money. Ha ha. Or wait, maybe its that Billy Preston song "World go round in circles" Or it's that Disney "Circle of Life" song that makes me vomit in my mouth a little bit as I shed a tear.

  16. VE - Ok, stop now, you're freaking me out. You just guessed my next post. Almost.

  17. I'm not sure why I feel the need to admit to this, but where the grid says Large Things and Small Things - I actually read the word 'things' as 'thighs'! No wonder I couldn't get the right answer.

I'm not a very good advert for laser eye correction am I?

  18. Liz - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! All becomes clear, so to speak. But you would have been closer with this one:
    Clicky.

At least you can make a cup of tea without putting the kettle on, right? Brrrzzzzzzzzzzzzap!!!
