...but I couldn't eat a whole one.
A Norwegian pro-whaling group, the
High North Alliance, have conducted a
scientific study proving that in terms of CO
2 emissions, the "best thing you can do for the planet is to eat whale meat."
Apparently the carbon footprint per kilo of whalemeat is only 1.9 kilo of greenhouse gases against 15.8 for beef, 6.4 for pork and 4.6 for chicken.
Before I sharpen my trusty harpoon, I want to know: what's the carbon footprint of a Norwegian? Fresh, not frozen.
That's it. Norway is officially off my list. Not that I have a list, but if I did have one, Norway would be off it.
ReplyDeleteLOL....I would be that the carbon foot-print of a fresh Norwegian is much higher than that of a poor whale.
ReplyDeleteI for one cannot wait until everyone is off the "carbon footprint" bandwagon. It is so ridiculous!
What is the carbon footprint of a bandwagon?
ReplyDeleteApparently Greenpeace activists have been pelting the Japanese whaling boats with rancid butter?!
ReplyDeleteI can think of better things...........
Laurie - Don't be too hard on the Norwegians, they're probly as embarrassed by this bunch as everyone else.
ReplyDeleteNot that I know any Norwegians (or other Scandinavians) except my boss, his wife and:
Jacki - Don't you love the way the tree-huggers rack up tens of thousands of airmiles to attend conferences which decide that the main cause of global warming is air travel?
Liz - LOL. Really. I am so having that!
John - Mmmm, whalemeat cooked in rancid butter. Yummee! Not.
