1 Yes, I know this version is Celine Dion. Bear with me.

  2. Shite - I can only agree with one of those (the Buckley one)

Serves me right for being Gothic I suppose

  3. Goth - Spooky. I've been dredging t'internet for videos to match up with my selections, just found one for Buckley. See what you think.

Can't find CTW Gentle, not even a sound file. And my state-of-the-art turntable doesn't have a wotsits cable. Tricky...

  4. May I boldly suggest "GOOD YEAR FOR THE ROSES" the Elvis Costello version. An absolute gem of a tune and my personal favourite...

  5. We like the Buzzcocks!

Not really sure it qualifies as a love song, though...
Prefer This is a bit of punky sentiment is required.

    What about This as well?

    No reason... :)

  6. This must be my esp working, yesterday I was making up the same kinda list in my head. Some oldies, like The air that I breathe by the Hollies. And an old, ooooold one, Eres Tu [don't know who sang that].

    And songs by Bryan Adams.

  7. Sorry Farty, 10cc, I'm not in love. The other one was Wings. muppet, me!

  8. Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me by the mighty Smiths gets my vote. Or is that an anti-love song? And speaking of votes, vote for me, otherwise I'm going to be evicted and that will make me cry...

  9. Manuel - Oh, nice. Yes.

Mr. X - It's a punk love song: still counts.
Your first choice - Jesus H.
Second choice - I used to hate the sax with a vengeance, it sounded like someone farting - how times change!
Then I heard this song. As the dj said when he played it on the radio this very week, some songs you have to play right to the end without interruption. Um, your clip doesn't. Try this version. The coda is longer than the song itself.

GG - Hollies, yep. Bryan Adams, indeedy. Eres Tú - Mocedades came second in Eurovision 1973. It was beaten by Anne-Marie David - Tu te reconnaîtras. I heart A-M D.
Where's your list, then? Come on!

John - Numpty. Actually, I think I'll change one of my selections. My blog, my rules.

Cat - See that? That's me, that is.

And I DID vote for you - twice. It's a fix.

  11. Up the junction - Squeeze.
I suppose it depends on your idea of romantic.....

Apart from that then it has to be 'Martha's Harbour' - All about Eve.

I fart in your general direction, Farty.
